A traditional Christmas dish featuring roasted goose, perfect for festive gatherings.

- 1 whole goose (about 10–12 pounds)
- 2 oranges, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove the giblets from the goose and pat the skin dry.
- Season the inside of the goose with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
- Stuff the cavity with quartered oranges and onion.
- Rub the skin with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the goose on a roasting rack in a pan.
- Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast for 2-2.5 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Check for doneness; the internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the goose rest for 20 minutes before carving.

- Pair with roasted vegetables or potatoes.
