A simple and hearty crockpot pot roast recipe.
Zutaten

- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 carrots, chopped
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Anweisungen
- Season the roast with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Place carrots, potatoes, and onion in the crockpot.
- Add the seared roast on top of the vegetables.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf.
- Pour the mixture over the roast and vegetables.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until tender.
- Remove the roast and vegetables, slice, and serve.
Notes
- For best results, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like celery or mushrooms.
