French crullers are light and airy doughnuts, made from choux pastry and fried to perfection.
Zutaten

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
Anweisungen
- In a saucepan, combine water and butter. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour and salt until a ball forms.
- Allow to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Pipe the dough into ring shapes into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to make icing.
- Dip crullers into icing while warm.

- Ensure oil temperature is correct for even frying.
