- 1 cup cornmeal

- 1 cup cold water
- Oil for frying
Anweisungen
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add cold water gradually, stirring until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip fish or seafood into the batter, coating evenly.
- Carefully place coated fish in hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Notes
- For crispier batter, use ice-cold water.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- This batter works well for shrimp and clams too.
