Beschreibung

Classic old fashioned banana pudding made with layers of vanilla pudding, bananas, and vanilla wafers.


Zutaten

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • whipped cream for topping

Anweisungen

  1. In a saucepan, mix milk, sugar, flour, and salt over medium heat.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks.
  3. Slowly add hot milk mixture to egg yolks, stirring constantly.
  4. Return mixture to saucepan and cook until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  6. In a serving dish, layer wafers, bananas, and pudding.
  7. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
  8. Top with whipped cream.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
  • Let pudding cool before layering.
