  • 1 bay leaf
  • 8 slices of baguette
  • 2 cups grated Gruyère cheese

Anweisungen

  1. Melt butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, salt, and sugar. Cook until onions are caramelized, about 30 minutes.
  3. Stir in wine and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth, thyme, and bay leaf. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat broiler. Place baguette slices on a baking sheet and broil until golden.
  6. Remove bay leaf from the soup. Ladle soup into bowls. Top with baguette and cheese.
