Zutaten
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup, softened
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh rosemary – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh thyme – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil – 1/4 cup
- Vegetables (carrots, celery, onion) – 4 cups, chopped
- Chicken broth – 4 cups
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture all over the turkey.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and surround it with chopped vegetables.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2 hours.
- Remove foil and roast for an additional 1-2 hours, basting occasionally.
- Check for doneness and let the turkey rest before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the turkey reaches 165°F.
- Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
- Save the drippings for gravy.
