A simple guide to seasoning turkey for Thanksgiving.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 onion, quartered
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
- Rub the seasoning mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
- Place lemon and onion inside the turkey cavity.
- Truss the turkey legs with kitchen twine.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
- Roast in the oven for 3 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

- Use fresh herbs for more flavor.
- Brining the turkey overnight can enhance moisture.
