A classic stuffed turkey recipe for Thanksgiving.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until soft.
- In a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken broth gradually until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Tie the legs together and tuck the wing tips under the body.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for about 3 to 3.5 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Ensure the turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
- For added flavor, you can mix in dried fruits or nuts in the stuffing.
- If you prefer, you can cook the stuffing separately.
