- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups bread cubes
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken broth
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté celery and onion until tender.
- Add bread cubes, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet.
- Pour in chicken broth and mix until well combined.
- Stuff the turkey with the mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, removing foil during the last hour for browning.
- Check the internal temperature of the turkey; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Make sure the turkey is completely thawed before cooking.
- You can use store-bought stuffing if preferred.
- Save the drippings for gravy.
