  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 cups stuffing (optional)

Anweisungen

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
  5. Stuff the turkey with lemon and onion if desired.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  8. Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  10. Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  11. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

  • Make sure to thaw the turkey in the fridge if frozen.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
