A classic Thanksgiving main dish featuring roasted turkey with savory herbs.

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove giblets from the turkey cavity and pat the turkey dry.
- Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
- Season the turkey with salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and garlic powder.
- Place quartered onion, carrots, and celery inside the turkey cavity.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Roast turkey for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accurate cooking.
- You can brine the turkey overnight for added flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
