  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)

Anweisungen

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  5. Place fresh herbs inside the cavity of the turkey.
  6. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast for 2-2.5 hours.
  8. Remove the foil and roast for another 30-60 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Make sure to baste the turkey every 30 minutes for moisture.
  • Let the turkey sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
