Zutaten
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup, melted
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Rosemary – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Thyme – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt – 1 tablespoon
- Pepper – 1 teaspoon
- Green beans – 2 lbs
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Carrots – 1 lb, sliced
- Potatoes – 3 lbs, peeled and cubed
- Milk – 1 cup
- Cheddar cheese – 1 cup, shredded
Anweisungen
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix melted butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the mixture all over the turkey.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 hours, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes.
- While the turkey cooks, prepare the green beans and carrots by tossing them in olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Roast the vegetables in the oven for 30 minutes.
- Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain.
- Add milk and cheddar cheese to the potatoes and mash until smooth.
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure turkey reaches 165°F.
- Let vegetables cool slightly before serving.
- Leftover turkey can be used for sandwiches.
