- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 2 cups chopped onion
- 4 cups cubed bread
- 1 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and mix with chicken broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- In a large bowl, combine the celery, onion, bread, parsley, thyme, and sage.
- Pour the broth mixture over the bread mixture and stir well.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for about 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes for golden skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest before carving.
