Zutaten
- Turkey – 1 whole (12-14 lbs)
- Butter – 1 cup, softened
- Salt – 2 tablespoons
- Pepper – 1 tablespoon
- Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
- Onion – 1 large, chopped
- Celery – 2 stalks, chopped
- Carrots – 2, chopped
- Herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage) – 1 tablespoon each, chopped
- Chicken broth – 2 cups
- Stuffing – 1 box (for turkey)
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the butter all over the turkey, then season with salt and pepper.
- Stuff the turkey with the stuffing mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan.
- Add chopped onion, celery, carrots, and garlic around the turkey.
- Pour chicken broth into the pan.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2-3 hours.
- Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Let the turkey thaw in the refrigerator for 1 day per 4 lbs.
- For more flavor, marinate the turkey overnight.
- Save the drippings for gravy.
