Zutaten

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 lbs)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups chopped vegetables (carrots, celery, onion)

Anweisungen

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, thyme, and sage.
  4. Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  5. Place the chopped vegetables in the bottom of a roasting pan.
  6. Put the turkey on top of the vegetables and pour chicken broth into the pan.
  7. Cover the turkey loosely with foil.
  8. Roast in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  9. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes for a crispy skin.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
