- 1 cup kosher salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 gallon water
- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon allspice berries
- 1 tablespoon crushed garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
Anweisungen
- In a large pot, combine water, salt, and brown sugar. Heat until dissolved.
- Add peppercorns, allspice, garlic, thyme, and rosemary.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Submerge the turkey in the brine.
- Refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.
- Rinse the turkey with cold water before cooking.
Notes
- Brining can be adjusted for smaller or larger turkeys.
- Make sure the brine is completely cooled before adding the turkey.
- Store the brining turkey in a cooler if refrigerator space is limited.
