A traditional Persian cake made for the New Year celebration.
Zutaten
Skala
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp saffron water
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds)
- 1/2 cup dried fruits (dates, figs)
Anweisungen
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk sugar, yogurt, and oil until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients.
- Stir in saffron water, nuts, and dried fruits.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve with tea or as a dessert.
- Decorate with additional nuts on top.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
