- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage)
Anweisungen
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- Rub the softened butter over the turkey skin.
- Season the turkey with salt and black pepper.
- Stuff the cavity with onion, carrots, celery, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour broth into the bottom.
- Cover with foil and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Remove foil for the last 30 minutes for a golden skin.
- Check the internal temperature, it should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
