- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Stir in boiling water until combined.
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with caramel sauce and chopped pecans in between.
- Frost the top and sides with remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle with pecans.
