A rich and decadent turtle caramel cake with layers of chocolate, caramel, and pecans.


Zutaten

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Anweisungen

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Stir in boiling water until combined.
  6. Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, layer the cakes with caramel sauce and chopped pecans in between.
  10. Frost the top and sides with remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle with pecans.
