Traditional Vietnamese dishes served during the Lunar New Year celebrations.
Zutaten
- Sticky rice – 2 cups
- Pork – 1 pound
- mung beans – 1 cup
- Banana leaves – enough to wrap
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – to taste
- Sugar – 1 tablespoon
- Onion – 1 medium, chopped
Anweisungen
- Soak sticky rice and mung beans overnight.
- Cook mung beans until soft and mash them.
- Mix pork with salt, pepper, and sugar.
- Lay banana leaves flat and place a layer of sticky rice.
- Add mung bean layer, followed by pork, then more sticky rice.
- Wrap tightly with banana leaves and tie with string.
- Boil for 4-6 hours.
- Let it cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use fresh banana leaves for best flavor.
- Adjust seasoning according to taste.
- Can be made a day before serving.
