A fun twist on traditional gingerbread cookies shaped like Shrek.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar.
- Add molasses and egg, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mix.
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut into Shrek shapes.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool before decorating.
Notes
- Use royal icing for detailing.
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can be frozen for up to a month.
