Delicious maraschino cherry thumbprint cookies.
Zutaten

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, combine until dough forms.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Fill each indentation with a maraschino cherry.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on wire racks.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Cherries can be substituted with other fruits.
- For added flavor, use almond extract.
