- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Red food coloring (optional)
Anweisungen
- Combine sugar, water, and cream of tartar in a saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and add peppermint extract and food coloring.
- Pour mixture onto a greased baking sheet.
- Let cool slightly, then use a knife to score the candy.
- Once fully cooled, break into pieces.
