- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Red food coloring (optional)
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 13×18 inch baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- For frosting, beat butter in a bowl until creamy.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add red food coloring if desired.
- Spread frosting over the cooled cake.
- Decorate with sprinkles or heart-shaped candies.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Use different colors of food coloring for various occasions.
- Can be made a day in advance.
