- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 12 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, sift together flour and half of the sugar.
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
- Add cream of tartar and salt, then continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in flour mixture, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- Pour batter into an ungreased tube pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.
- Cool upside down on a wire rack.
- Remove from pan and serve with fresh berries.
Notes
- Ensure egg whites are at room temperature for better volume.
- Do not grease the pan to allow the cake to rise properly.
- Serve with whipped cream for added sweetness.
