- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Red and pink food coloring
- Buttercream frosting

Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Color one bowl with red food coloring and the other with pink.
- Pour the batters into the prepared pans, alternating colors.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans.
- Frost with buttercream and decorate as desired.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
- Use heart-shaped decorations for a romantic touch.
