- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons meringue powder
- 1/2 cup water
- Food coloring (optional)
Anweisungen
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and combine.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cookies cool completely before decorating.
- For royal icing, mix powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water until smooth.
- Add food coloring if desired and decorate cookies as you like.
